Validators FAQ
A markdown block is a standalone text block that supports markdown and can be used to make notes or organize your blocks.
Yes, any validator will be able to participate, provided they meet the technical requirements/constraints of Furya Chain.
No.
The minimum number of validators required for mainnet is 9. The current cap is 56, and any validator who falls outside of the top 56 in delegated FURY will stop producing earning rewards.
Staking incentive parameters will not be activated immediately on the day the Furya Chain launches. However, Fantasy Terra intends to construct a proposal to incentivise staking. This proposal will be submitted to the Furya Forum for community review and approval.
The proposal would seek to change the parameters of the network in order to enable additional incentives, and multi-token staking rewards. Initial staking rewards will be obtained from the Airdrop allocation and sent to community pool to fund these staking rewards per month (21M for a whole 12 month period).
These incentives are not guaranteed and are dependent on the community approving this proposal. Keep in mind that stakes and incentives would be denominated in FURY, so fiat-denominated returns may differ based on market prices over the staking period.
The Furyan Council has delegated 10M tokens from the liquidity and bonding allocations to be delegated to Genesis Validators. Delegated tokens will be returned to the respective allocations, if required in future. Of course, this delegation is not guaranteed and is dependent on the Furyan Council.
Yes. However, this public Furya Hub testnet will not be made available on the launch of the Furya Chain.
21 days.
Yes, poorly performing validator nodes (i.e., those that are offline or have weak network connections) will be penalized and earn fewer rewards.
Although not required, validators should consider using sentry nodes as a security measure. To learn more about sentry node architecture, see here.
When you use a cloud provider to host your validator, you are likely using a shared SSD, which is generally pretty slow. You will likely miss some blocks, which will affect your total uptime. Bare metal servers generally offer better performance than cloud providers. There are some bare metal hosting services that allow for remote access to dedicated servers.
Get started by downloading and compiling the furyad software, which is open source at: https://github.com/furysport/furya-chain. Sign a gentx (genesis transaction) and submit it to https://github.com/furysport/furya-mainnet-genesis. Once each genesis validator has submitted their gentx, the final genesis file can be created. Genesis validators can then download this genesis file and turn their server on ahead of the genesis time.
